My Interview at Adventures in Heritage

2 February 2011

Hello everyone,

It has always been a pleasure to have been interviewed throughout my career on various projects I have been involved with. But, when it comes down to being interviewed by a fellow heritage professional on working in the industry…well that surely ranks as a “top 10″ event for sure.

I was recently interviewed by my colleague and fellow “warrior in heritage”, Kayla Jonas, for her wonderful blog Adventures in Heritage. That interview was posted today on her blog and you can read it right here. This is part of series of interviews Kayla is conducting over the next several weeks with people who are involved in many aspects of the heritage industry. Please check it out. And while you are there, read through Kayla’s posts. Adventures in Heritage is a great blog and I applaude both Kayla’s work and insight into built heritage.

  1. You raise a very interesting point.. who is responsible for our heritage… I’m going to think about that one, there are so many answers!

  2. hahaha, opps, that one got posted to the wrong place, that was meant for the Egyptian post.

But while I’m here. thanks so much for this nice write up! I am so grateful that you participated.

  3. Tee hee…..no worries. Hey, you know you’ve really messed when you post on the WRONG blog about a post….been there and got the t-shirt tucked away somewhere for that one! My pleasure to participate in your interview series. And yes, the question of “who” owns culture and heritage has been one that has been dogging me the last few weeks. “WHO” decides what buildings should be added to an invetory list for protection; “WHY” are certain people chosen for heritage committees over others; “WHAT” is heritage and who determines that definition? Are the answers based in politics, social theory, psychology? I’m not sure of the answer, but something tells me I’m starting a quest to try to answer that.
